Longer Lashes By

Latisse for Lashes

Latisse is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis. Hypotrichosis simply means “inadequate eyelashes”. From a practical perspective,it is commonly used off label for cosmetic enhancement for naturally longer and fuller lashes. Latisse is believed to work by increasing the length of the growth phase of the eyelash hair, and by increasing the number of hairs formed during this growth phase. Latisse is a once a day treatment. It is applied at night, to the base of the eyelashes, with special applicators that are included in the Latisse kit.

Results may be seen as early as 8 weeks after beginning treatment with Latisse, with full results in approximately 12 to 16 weeks. Eyelash growth and thickening is gradual, over time.Latisse is not a replacement for mascara, and mascara may be used on your lashes in addition to Latisse. The treatment must continue for full effect.

Today, Latisse does require a prescription from your doctor. The Eye Care professionals here at Ohio Valley Eye Institute have perscribed the medication used in Latisse for nearly 10 years! We would be happy to evaluate you to determine if Latisse is right for you.
