Aalaa Shahin, OD
Dr. Aalaa Shahin is a highly skilled optometrist who earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2023. Before that, she completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Southern Indiana in 2016. Dr. Shahin further honed her expertise by completing a residency in Ocular Disease at the VA hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she worked in a hospital-based setting focusing on interdisciplinary collaboration with emergency medicine, neurology, and ophthalmology to manage complex ocular conditions.
Dr. Shahin’s clinical experience includes rotations in primary care, ocular disease, and specialty contact lenses, giving her comprehensive expertise in optometric care. She has also presented on advanced topics such as neovascular glaucoma and Coats disease during her residency.
Dr. Shahin is passionate about serving her patients and will be seeing patients at both the Evansville, Indiana, and Henderson, Kentucky locations. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and staying active through regular workouts. Fluent in both English and Arabic, Dr. Shahin is committed to providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population.
