Cataract Surgery – No stitch self-sealing incision
It is surprising in this day and age that so many cataract surgeries are still done with stitches. Sutures are a foreign body that can introduce an dharbor bacteria, can create astigmatism, can break and cause an infection and generally need to be removed, with another set of risks.
It is really quite simple to create a self sealing incision. Some prefer a one plane incision, some a two plane and some surgeons, a three plane incision.
